Job summary

The Director, US Marketing has responsibility for participating in the development, advancement and execution of the brand strategy and plan for an asset for a rare orphan respiratory disease in the US that is poised for a BLA submission mid-2025 with an accelerated approval designation. The role is focused on achieving the launch and ultimately annual brand goals and operating plan. In collaboration with Sales, Healthcare Systems/Market Access, Business Operations and Medical Affairs, this person ensures that HCP functional area strategies are aligned with the overall brand strategy and launch objectives. The Director is responsible for executing the preparatory launch activities for the asset and ensuring timely and effective implementation of action plans and liaises with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure that business insights and customer needs are efficiently translated into effective initiatives. This individual must be able to work independently with minimum guidance from the Senior Director while being able to influence cross-functional partners and senior management.

Essential job functions and duties

  • Contributes to the foundational brand launch strategy, plans and marketing activities for the asset. Recommends and drives the alignment of resources and initiatives to achieve current and long-term product objectives. Applies innovative and competitive strategies to the development of marketing plans. Accountable for the development of customer segment specific value propositions and the appropriate marketing strategies that will drive effective messaging to deliver these value propositions. Accountable for proactive management of marketing activities to assure compliance with internal Company and external requirements.
  • Contributes to the launch execution and eventually the annual marketing strategic plan for the asset and manages the complex variables that impact the successful execution of the plan.
  • Develops and presents to leadership for the successful implementation and measurement of these plans. Prioritizes and manages work to ensure resources are focused on key initiatives. Actively partners with key stakeholders in medical affairs, sales, healthcare systems and business operations to align organizational plans to the brand plan.
  • Develop key message platforms for the brands and ensure they are effectively communicated to customers.
  • Develop and execute an efficient and effective multi-channel promotional program for the asset including digital, website, mobile, email/CRM, etc.
  • Manage all aspects of launch meeting, developing in collaboration with cross functional partners.
  • Manage all aspects of the speakers’ bureau, developing in collaboration with cross functional partners.
  • Manage all aspects of HCP convention execution and enhance relationships with Key Opinion Leaders.
  • Provide direction to agency and vendor partners to ensure quality and timely completion of deliverable or services, within budget.
  • Build effective working relationships with key internal and external customers, including cross functional partners and thought leaders.
  • Lead the build of the internal legal, regulatory, and medical review process to facilitate approval of new materials to enable responsible and compliant consumer communications.
  • Manage budgets and closely monitor performance, ensuring cost-effective delivery of all programs.
  • Monitors and reports on Competitive Intelligence in the RRP space.

Minimum requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or other advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 8 years experience in healthcare, with 4-6 years' commercial marketing experience in the pharmaceutical/ biotech industry.
  • Experience in a range of Sales, Marketing, Business Analytics, Market Research, Managed Care, Business Development functions is a plus.
  • Rare/Orphan or Specialty Disease experience strongly preferred.
  • Hybrid role, minimum of two full days in office (Tuesday and Thursday).

The annualized base salary range for this role is $195,000 to $230,000 and is bonus eligible. Individual pay decisions ultimately depend on various factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, knowledge, skills, education, geography, internal equity and alignment with external market data.
